Marli is an up-and-coming musical artist from Cologne, Germany. For the release of her first single I created two pieces of merchandise which she could give away to her fans at her release party. The single, “Surrender”, describes what it feels like to be vulnerable with another person by opening up our shiny distorted universe to let someone in.
Create a poster and sticker for the first single from the musical artist Marli.
Pairing a 3D planet-like shape with some of the lyrics from “Surrender” layered above a wavy dark background created an intergalactic scene in the poster. I chose a slightly futuristic font, which, in some cases, is somewhat distorted to represent the beautiful confusion of understanding a person, understanding oneself, and allowing oneself to give in to the vulnerability of sharing.
This identity was carried through into the sticker in order to maintain the space-like vibe. The stickers focus on stars and Marli's prominent eye to further depict the diverse and ever-changing self as a universe.
